Glad to know, sole & solo dev in indie game industry
Really glad to know someone out there in the game industry is trying to do the same.
As the passion comes in telling you to start from the ground up and found such an indie game studio or just a group of working mans, the story yet not to be explored needs to be written.
I come across the Linked-In “Game Development” group as usual and found out this guy named Allen Tan. He’s based in Philippines trying to create his own game for passion and featuring his future company. He’s sole developers with no-good (as I said so) art skill in terms of graphics and music composing.
The story began when he started to develop his game named “Run Kitty Run”. The whole development process has passed for around 4 months, and now he’s drying in funds to support the project.
So then he decided to invest in Kickstarter, see here for his brave action.
Of course, I believe others may see this game as it’s not that totally promising as seen in the graphics part, and its style or lines. But what attracts me and bump me up some ideas on this such a brave action is that “if you really want something, just go plain through it and make an action”. He believes in his own game, and decide to give it a try in Kickstarter !
Normally, the projects to be funded in crowd funding like this has to look good and the owner who creating it must be really believe for what it would pay for in the end. I don’t say his work is not that good. My point is it’s because the passion and don’t want to lose the progress made and committed to this game, this decision is brave for me.
Hope him good luck on his endeavors. Though, I’m not in the position to give some on his Kickstarter page, so I can only pray for him.
Sole & Solo game developer is kind of dangerous and only who decided to go on is the ones you should look and learn from ;)
